Program

A rigorous selection process that includes interviews with all applicants allows our program to choose 10 finalists from a broad pool of applicants. Finalists are selected on the basis of need, artist talent and overall work ethic and are enrolled in a 4 months curriculum that includes educational seminars, targeted mentorship and the opportunity to workshop their scripts with top industry professionals.

Following the successful completion of our finalist education program, three young filmmakers are given the unique opportunity to make a world-class calibre short film based on an original script that they submit to the City Life Film Project. All three winners will be mentored by top industry writers, directors and producers through every step of the filmmaking process: from the initial pitch of their project, through pre-production, on-set filming, post-production and exhibition.

In addition, all City Life applicants will be given the opportunity to be involved in various aspects of the production of the three short films, including:

• Sound Design
• Costume Design
• Graphic Design
• Post-Production
• Hair and Mark-up
• Music Composition
